Chassis.
The XB2’23 chassis plate retains the updated flex characteristics but incorporates the traditional mounting of the rear suspension holder based on customer feedback for maximum reliability and platform consistency between all 2023 XRAY 2WD models of the XB2, XT2, and SCX.
The flex characteristics of the front section of the chassis provides the steering reactivity, and the additional milling provides more room for electronics.
To adjust weight balance, the optional 1.6mm carbon fiber electronics plate can be installed in the front or rear mounting locations to move the ESC and receiver. If additional weight is needed, a 30g stainless steel plate is also available.
Suspension.Correct suspension geometry is one of the most important features of any RC model car, while at the same time being one of the most difficult & challenging features for a designer.
From the suspension arms, through the suspension blocks, to the light yet robust steering blocks, every suspension part has been carefully designed for the 2WD 1/10 off-road racing platform to provide responsive racing characteristics in all conditions.
Fully Adaptive Steering System.The Fully Adaptive Steering System allows easy changes to the steering assembly that transform the geometry and alter the handling characteristics of the XB2. No extra parts are required as all parts are in the kit.
Configuration for low traction conditions:
Steering plate oriented frontwards
Linkage installed rearwards
Servo link mounted on steering plate
With this configuration the outside wheel turns less which provides less steering and makes the car easier to drive.
Configuration for high traction conditions:
Steering plate oriented rearwards
Linkage installed frontwards
Servo link mounted on left steering arm
With this configuration the outside wheel turns more which increases more steering and makes the car more aggressive.
Drivetrain.The XB2 is a conventional gear-driven 2WD off-road car featuring:
● Rear Ball Differential (Dirt Edition) or Gear Differential (Carpet Edition) with adjustable oil viscosity, featuring 53T gear and internal satellite gears
● 25T (Dirt Edition) or 38T (Carpet Edition) graphite composite idle gear
● 20T super-lightweight Swiss 7075 T6 hardcoated aluminum top shaft
● adjustable slipper clutch with 78T main spur gear
